A thief's thoughts on BioPace...
Are biopace chainrings so bad that thieves won't even take them? I've been using one on my commuter for quite some time now, can't tell any real difference given that my commuter is a ~27 pound tank.

I was just thinking...in an accident the rider would probably lose their fingers...or at least horribly mutilate themselves...
As I was driving home I was thinking of what a short melancholy summer it's been. 1 week of downtime and all I could think of was how everyone was gone or going soon. This time last summer was the most fun I'd ever had with my friends even though I had been working for most of it. Perhaps this is just me on the flip side of things. Poetic, now that I'm here, everyone else is gone working or studying, and come dawn I'll be in that mode too.

thinking of you too nandoo (can i legitimately call you that now?)
What the deuce? I hope for the rider's sake that rattle can paint job doesn't peel off the seat in the summer heat.
Did you know we have a gun range at the top of Coyote Hills? I think it belongs to the police department or something, but it was still pretty bizzare. Other than that, headwind going in makes nice tailwind on the ride home. There were a lot of random little squirrel/rat/ferret type animals scurrying all over the trails - couldn't do a lot of the descents at full speed because of them. I'm sadly in pretty piss poor biking condition at the moment. School ruins everything I guess...
Yes. I now can drive manual. Time to cruise around Fremont picking up chicks in the badass Tercel. I'll say, it's pretty fun.
Funny how resolutions work, or don't work. Mid-year, lets see what I've accomplished. Or haven't.
1. Learn Java - Shit.
2. Network with Industry - Shit.
3. Do Research - Oh crap.
4. Attempt a Business Venture - Oh...god....
5. Swear Less - Woot?
6. Get a consistent 3.75 gpa - !)#@()(@$*.
7. Save $2000 dollars - Woot!
8. Lose 20 pounds, run a 7 minute mile consistently, and bike up Mission Peak - Heh.
9. Learn to cook - Woot!
10. Get a girlfriend - REMOVED
11. Be a better friend - Bah!
10 no longer counts since I no longer care. So 3/10. Not bad. Reminds me of some engineering problem sets I turned in.
Anyways, we have a long road ahead of us old James old buddy.
That's right, 3rd person.
Shoot me in the face.
Not much to say this time around. I just learn a bit more about life, and I have even fewer words to capture what I learn. Learn a little bit more about myself. Face another set of harder challenges. Make a few more mistakes, do a few more things right. Make some new friends, lose touch with some others. Learn more about the people around me. Own a few more things, lose a few other things. Overall a little stronger and a little more worn.
Just life as usual I guess.
If all goes well, I'll be back in Davis to continue school and work by next Saturday to continue the grind.
2 down, 2 more to go.
1 tonight, 1 tomorrow morning. i'll be done with sophomore year in exactly 24 hours. just have to keep this ship from sinking into a fever till then.
Drillium! The key ingredient in structural failure of key mechanical parts and broken necks. I wonder where the drilled brake calipers are...oh yeah, their riders died.
